Tana Heminsley, Mentor and Conductor

Tana is an Executive and Entrepreneur with a passion for building businesses and developing leaders. She excels at providing strategic guidance as well as implementing practical solutions for organizational and individual effectiveness in the 21st century – particularly where it requires the development of new paradigms and ways of being.

Tana enjoys connecting leaders and supporting them in developing self-awareness, emotional intelligence and wellness as business advantages for sustainability. Her ability to integrate strategic thinking and self-awareness supports her in creating space for dialogue where new possibilities for business and leadership can arise.

In 1984, at 22, Tana was national correspondent for CP’s in-house newsletter for the $600-million Roger’s Pass tunnel project and at 27, she started her own retail clothing store in Revelstoke, B.C. She’s worked for the founders of the balanced scorecard management system which originated out of Harvard and she’s consulted on strategy implementation around the US.

She’s been a member of the Executive team for BC Hydro – one of North America’s leading providers of clean, renewable energy – with 4,500 employees, annual net income of $400 Million (2007) and 1.7 million customers. Tana was Director, Stakeholder Engagement where she was accountable for involving the public in dialogue with BC Hydro regarding a number of topics including long-term energy planning.

Tana holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, B.C. Canada. She is a certified Executive and Leadership Coach, is a member of the International Coaching Federation, and has completed the Enneagram Intensive training, through the Enneagram Worldwide in San Francisco.

Tana practices meditation, yoga and running and has spent more than 20 years on her journey to self-awareness. She is an artist and a singer. She enjoys time with her husband traveling, discovering amazing food, and eagle watching from their cottage on the Sunshine Coast.
